AGE: 94 • Millville

Stanley N. Prickitt, Sr., 94, of Millville, died on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the Hammonton Center after an extended illness. Born in Elmer to Isaiah and Bessie (nee Brady) Prickitt, Mr. Prickitt graduated from Bridgeton High in 1937. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific and European theaters, with the 27th, 66th and 83rd Divisions. Mr. Prickitt was awarded many medals and citations and among them: the Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a life member of the American Legion Nabb Leslie Post #82.

He was a co-founder of a steel fabricating business in Philadelphia for over 37 years and then worked at K-Flow Corporation in Millville until he retired in 1995. Mr. Prickitt was very interested and devoted to his community in which he lived. He was a former very active member of the United Presbyterian Church in Daretown, serving as Sunday School Superintendant, chairman of the Expansion Committee.

Mr. Prickitt also served on the Upper Pittsgrove Board of Education and having moved to Estell Manor he served on the City Council, Planning Board and Board of Education.

Stanley is survived by his companion and devoted caretaker, with whom he resided, Alice Weiss; 4 daughters: Connie Ford (Barry) of Monroeville, Nancy Downer-Gardener (Alan) of Elmer, Katherine Lamb (Rick) of Millville, Susan Brunsvold (Pete) of Las Vegas; son: Stanley N. Prickitt, Jr.(Allison) of Nevada; sister: Marian B. Martin of Woodruff: 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and ex son-in-law, Stephen Smith. Stanley was predeceased by first wife, Charlotte, second wife, Jeanne; sister: Dorothy and 2 grandsons: Timothy and Andrew Smith.

A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at 2PM in the Veterans section of Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to: Compassionate Care Hospice, 1130 Hooper Ave., Toms River, NJ 08753. Written condolences may be sent to:
