Vincent R. Hitchner Sr., 36, of Port Norris died unexpectedly Friday Jan. 25, 2013.
Vincent was born in Bridgeton on Sept. 28, 1976, and he was the son of Robin V. and Summer (Haaf) Hitchner of Millville. He was the husband of Laurie M. (Rubart) Hitchner, with whom he shared 19 happy years together. A lifetime area resident, Vincent lived in Port Norris for the last year and before that lived in Millville for several years. Most recently he was employed by Blankenship in Scranton, Pa., and was involved in drilling for natural gas. Prior to that, Vincent worked Crown Pipeline. He was a car enthusiast who also enjoyed motorcycles and, as a younger man, BMX bicycle riding. He was also a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Kelsie, Madison, Vincent R. Jr. and Gracelyn Hitchner, all at home; two sisters, Rebecca Garrison and Rachel Hitchner; four brothers, Michael Tomasello, Matthew Hitchner (Jennifer), Andrew Hitchner and Nicholas (Randy) Hitchner; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by two grandmothers, Anna May Hitchner and Monica Haaf; and a great-grandmother, Louise Stull. He is also survived by his mother, Theresa Peterson Nash of Tennessee.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton, on Thursday morning, January 31st, at 11 o'clock. The interment will follow at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday morning from 9 until 11.
