AGE: 69 • Fortescue

Pat Tierno, 69, of Fortescue, NJ passed away suddenly on Friday evening June 6, 2014 in the Kennedy Health Systems Washington Twp. Pat was born & raised in Pedricktown and later moved to Elmer & Vineland where he resided before moving to Fortescue. He and his wife had been living with his daughter in Aura while their home was being rebuilt from hurricane Sandy. He was the son of the late Maria V. & John Tierno and the brother of the late Nicky Tierno. Before retiring, Pat was a N.J. State Certified Plumbing Inspector. He had served numerous municipalities in S. Jersey including, Margate, Ventnor, Longport, Linwood, Upper Twp. Fairfield, Pittsgrove & Pilesgrove Twp's. Along with his late father he had also owned & operated Tierno Plumbing & Heating. Pat was always an entrepreneur, in his early years he was a licensed barber, was an independent truck driver operating out of Mays Landing Sand & Gravel and he also owned & operated 2 Charter fishing boats, the Sea Mist out of Wildwood & Capp's Lady out of Fortescue. Pat loved being on the water fishing, crabbing and being down in Fortescue. He also got to enjoy a couple of winters staying in Florida. Most of all he enjoyed the time spent with his family especially his grandchildren. His favorite day was Sunday because that was the day everyone got together for a family dinner of which he enjoyed preparing. He is survived by his wife; Marie E. (nee Hogan). daughter & son in-law; Lori & Richard Graves. 3 grandchildren; Patricia, Jennifer & John Graves . 1 brother; John Tierno. 3 sisters; Ida Black, Rita Morgan & Anna Tierno. his devoted pet's; Penny & Chloe as well as several nieces & nephews. Relatives & friends will be received on Wednesday June 11, 2014 from 9:00-11:00 AM at the Christ the Good Shepherd Parish-Church of St. Isidore's, 1655 Magnolia Rd., Vineland, NJ where his funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation or to the Special Olympics.
