Archie Mazzoli Jr. Obituary
Archie Mazzoli, Jr.

Archie Mazzoli, local businessman, wine connoisseur, jazz aficionado and private pilot died on July 20, 2014. Archie was born in 1937 to Archie & Jennie Mazzoli. He started working in the family's business, the Richland General Store, at the age of nine. At the time, the store was the one-stop shop in Richland for produce, meats, gas, clothing, hardware, haircuts, as well as the local gathering place to keep up on current events. He was a varsity football player at Vineland High School (class of 1955), served in the National Guard 50th Armored Division, was a member of the Dionysian Society, and managed Richland General Store operations. After selling the business in 2001, there were frequent jaunts to Florida, and a concentration on the fine arts -- of growing perfect tomatoes, enticing ever more hummingbirds to the back porch and savoring pinot noir. He excelled at sniffing out new BYOW dining spots, and planning and preparing Michelin star quality meals at home. He read voraciously, was captivated by jazz, and rarely lost a game of pinochle. He took great pride in his two grandchildren, Kayla and Christian.

He is cherished by his wife, Antoinette, to whom he was married 55 years, as well as his two daughters, Diane Mazzoli (and her partner Abraham), and Karen Seibert (and her husband Jeff), siblings Barbara (and Tom) Ronchetti and George (and Marion) Mazzoli, and extended family.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Padre Pio Parish, Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 4680 Dante Ave, Vineland, New Jersey on Friday, July 25, at 11 AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 9 South Union Rd, Vineland, NJ 08361. A viewing will take place on Thursday evening, July 24, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 South Lincoln Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08361 and on Friday morning, at Padre Pio prior to the mass from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM.

Donations can be made to the Richland Fire Company or St. Augustine College Preparatory School Sports Program (Richland, NJ) where Archie could always be found cheering on the Hermits during the basketball season. Condolences can be sent to the family at
