Paul E. Lokey, Jr., 70, of Millville was stricken at home and rushed to Cooper University Hospital in Camden on Saturday, July 17, 2010, where he died. He had been in declining health for the past three years.

Born in Spangler, Pa., he grew up in Elmora, Pa., and was a graduate of John Carroll High School. Mr. Lokey moved to Millville, and enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served for three years. After completing his military service, he became a member of the Millville police force and served for 26 years. He retired as a sergeant. He was a member of the PBA and the Retired Police Officers Association. He had earned his associates degree from Cumberland County College and attended the FBI National Academy.

In his retirement, he worked for 10 years as a barber for Tony Padilla Barber Shop. After that, he worked for the Millville Board of Education and retired in 2003. He was a member of the Masonic Temple Shekinah No. 58 F&A Masons, and the Order of the Eastern Star No. 82, both of Millville, and the Scottish Rite in Collingswood. He also was a member of the Masonic Camping Club. Other memberships included the Nabb Leslie Post No. 82 of the American Legion and the Millville Elks Lodge No. 580. He enjoyed attending his granddaughters' sporting competitions.

Mr. Lokey is survived by his wife, Judith (Weil) Lokey; his son, Paul Damian Lokey and wife Nancy of Millville; two granddaughters, Sarah Elizabeth Lokey and Laura Nicole Lokey, both of Millville; two brothers, Francis Lokey and wife Helen of Patton, Pa., and Eugene L. Lokey and wife Susie of Hollidaysburg, Pa.; two sisters, Beverly Gibbons of Elmora, Pa., and Janet Fowler and husband Bill of Carrolltown, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul E. and Nancy (Archik) Lokey Sr.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville. There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with a Masonic service beginning at 7:15 p.m., followed by an Eastern Star service. There also will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday before the service. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Millville.

The family has requested memorial contributions to the Masonic Temple Shekinah Lodge or the OES Chapter 82, 1317 Fairton Road, Millville, NJ 08332.
