Obituary Condolences

Mary L. (Trout) Nixon, 82, of Millville, died on Friday, May 13, 2011, after an extended illness at the South Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Vineland.

Born in Millville, she was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Nixon was a graduate of Millville High School, Class of 1946. Early in life, Mrs. Nixon had once worked as a cafeteria aide at Sensor School in Millville. She also had worked for the election board for more than 30 years. Mrs. Nixon will be remembered for her volunteer work at the Millville Hospital, Newcomb Hospital and most recently South Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Vineland.

She enjoyed playing cards, and was active in card club for more than 50 years. Mrs. Nixon was a lifelong member of the Fourth United Methodist Church and was active in the choir.

She loved to follow her family's sports careers, and especially enjoyed following her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sports.

She is survived by son, James Nixon Jr. and wife Janet of Virginia Beach; daughter, Mary Beth DuBois and husband Jeffrey of Millville; six grandchildren, Todd, Tim, Tiffany, Amanda, Stacy and Lauren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, Diane Trout, Sherry Trout, and Laurie Johnson. Mrs. Nixon was predeceased by her husband, James Nixon Sr.; and sister, Maude Trout.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday in the Fourth United Methodist Church of Millville. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held from noon until 1 p.m. on Monday at the church.
