Alice (Adams) Robinson, 80, of Vineland passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Barclay Friends in West Chester, Pa.
She was born in 1931 in Atlantic City to the late Edward and Mary (Cook) Adams. Alice attended Westminster Choir College and received a bachelor's degree in music in 1953 and a master's degree in music (choral conducting) in 1954. She married Darius Robinson in 1955. For 25 years, Alice served as the choir director at Sacred Heart Church from 1971 to 1996. She taught voice, piano and organ lessons in Vineland for many years.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Mark Adel; daughter, Mary Alice Robinson; son, Edward Robinson; daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Greg Leinweber; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and James Piccone; son and daughter-in-law, Darius Robinson and Kelley Donaghy; 17 grandchildren, Heather, David, Lauren, Erina, Titian, Gabriela, Katy, Christine, Stephanie, Daniel, Stephen, Jay, Matthew, Allison, Madolyn, Kalysta and Phoebe; and one great-grandson, Dale. Alice is predeceased by her husband, Darius D. Robinson, in 2008.
A church visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon today followed by a funeral Mass at noon from Christ the Good Shepherd Parish -- Church of St. Isidore the Farmer, 1655 Magnolia Road., Vineland. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing.
