Christopher W. Reeves, 40, of Millville, died Sunday morning, July 8, 2012, from injuries sustained in the line of duty.
Born in Millville, Chris was a 1991 graduate of Millville High School. He served in the Marine Corps security force regiment from 1991 to 1996. Chris was a supervisor in the security department in the Borgata casino after his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps. He served as a volunteer firefighter for the city of Millville before joining the police department. He was an eight-year veteran at the time of his death. Chris loved history, playing video games and kayaking, and was a very proud father.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; his son, Alexander W. Reeves; parents, Wayne and Kathleen Reeves; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Chris' funeral service at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Lakeside Middle School, 2 N. Sharp St., Millville. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the school. Burial will follow the service in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Millville.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Alexander W. Reeves Educational Fund, c/o Millville Savings, P.O. Box 190, Millville, NJ 08332.
