John Walter Butler, 71, of Vineland passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 after a brief battle with kidney cancer. He passed with his loving family by his side at the Inspira Healthcare Hospice Care Inpatient Unit in Bridgeton.
Born in Camden, he was the son of the late John Saretta Butler and Anna Magnin McGonigal. He attended Audubon High School, and served in the U.S. Navy and Air Force. He was a resident of Vineland for more than 50 years.
He was a retired set-up operator from Kimble Glass, Scientific Division, Vineland. Besides being an avid NASCAR, Eagles and Phillies fan, John enjoyed cooking, traveling, and was a history enthusiast.
Surviving are his daughter, Monica LoGuidice and her husband Alexander of Vineland; granddaughter, Chelsea Webb of Vineland; sister, Donna Horay-Giffins and her husband Kevin of Berlin; nephew, Jason; nieces, Nicole and Ashley; three great-nephews; and companion, Marta Morales. He was predeceased by his sister, Joan.
Adherent to John's wishes, his body was donated to science to the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish-Church of Sacred Heart, Landis Avenue, Vineland.
