David Glover Jr., 61, of Vineland passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, Aug. 27, 2013, at his home.
Born in Vineland, he was the son of the late David Glover Sr. and Catherine Glover (Marx). He was a 1970 graduate of Vineland High School and was known for his abilities as a left-handed pitcher on the school baseball team.
A well-known mechanic, Mr. Glover owned and operated Dave Glover Enterprises for over 30 years. His garage on Delsea Drive became a local hangout for automotive enthusiasts as well as a meeting place for the many car clubs he belonged to. He had a great passion for all things mechanical and especially loved, dirt bikes, dune buggies and dragsters. During his youth, he practically lived at the Atco Raceway.
Mr. Glover dedicated himself to fitness and he loved the outdoors. He was also a member of the North Italy Club in Vineland.
He is survived by one son, Jacob Glover of Vineland; two sisters, Patricia Howe of Vineland and Margaret Rizzo (Joe) of Chesterfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Lewis.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday afternoon, September 11th at 2 o'clock at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce Street in Bridgeton.
The interment will take place privately at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Vineland.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon between 1 and 2.
