Jean Parr Obituary

Jean F. Parr

AGE: 84 • Millville

Jean F. Parr, 84 of Millville, passed away on Thursday at the Inspira Medical Center of Vineland, after an extended illness. Born in Millville, Jean was a lifelong resident.

If you knew her, you were blessed. She never met a stranger. Her great strengths included her way of making everyone she met feel important, her encouragement, her affection, her optimistic outlook, her love of family and friends, her sense of humor and her great faith.

Some may remember Jean from the Wheaton Plaza Bank of America Branch as she served as the Branch Manager until she retired. She also was a long standing, active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church where she served on many committees, and at one time served as a Sunday School Teacher. Jean was a member of the Eastern Star Shekinah Lodge #58 for many years, and she also was a member of the retired bankers lunch club. She enjoyed taking drives around the area and visiting Fortescue. Jean loved her family, and enjoyed spending time with them. She was an avid fan of Dancing with the Stars and enjoyed being her own judge of the performances. Jean did have two vices; she was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.

Jean is survived by: son, William G. Parr; daughter, Carol Coffee (George); grandchildren, Deena Osmer, Jennifer Stancov, Megan Parr, William P. Parr, Elizabeth Coffee, and Steph Coffee; great-grandchildren, David Ayos, Marley Ayos, and Calvin Osmer.

Services will be held on Tuesday at 12 noon at the Rocap Shannon Memorial Funeral Home of Millville. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Relatives and friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10am until 12 noon. An Eastern Star Service will be held on Tuesday. Memorial contributions can be made to: Trinity United Methodist Church, 2nd and Smith St., Millville, NJ 08332. Written condolences can be sent to: [email protected] or visit; www.rocapshannon.com or SNJToday.com.

For many years Jean and I exchanged Leaning Tree Christmas cards and added our latest news...I will miss that. Jean's smile and encouraging words from the time I met her when she worked in the bank, are fond memories - she lighted any room and will be missed by so many -- a Millville treasure, Jean Parr and her consistent Christian faith influenced more people than we will ever know. My deepest sympathy to her family. Thank you for your beautiful tribute to her life.
