Ronnie E. "Ron" Sprague

Ronnie "Ron" E. Sprague, 72, of Coldwater, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 due to the result of an auto accident.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2018 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Chaplain Brenda Walters officiating.
Interment with military honors will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Concord. A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m. A celebration of his life will take place at 3 p.m. at the American Legion in Coldwater.
Ronnie was born March 7, 1946 to Kenneth and Donna (King) Sprague in Findlay, Ohio. After graduating from Concord High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy on July 23, 1964, achieved the rank of SN and was honorably discharged on March 9, 1967. He worked as an oil field tanker driver and roughneck in the 1970's, an auctioneer and DJ in the Crawford County area in the 1980's.
He was a Deputy Sheriff with the Crawford County Sheriff Department for 12 years, retiring in the late 1980's. After moving to Coldwater, he was employed as a Foreman with Tenneco in Litchfield for several years.
He loved his 1970 Chevelle Super Sport, classic country music, eagles and wolves, but especially his family and grandchildren. Ronnie was an avid Ohio State
Buckeye Fan, he also enjoyed watching football, motorcycles, Facebook and helping and talking with anybody. He was a member of Quincy American Legion and the Crawford County Crusaders Car Club.
Ronnie is survived by his wife Carol A. Foley whom he married on June 28, 2003 in Quincy; his daughters, Tammy Sprague-Hardiman of Hammond, Louisiana and Teresa Sprague-Theard of Ponchatoula, Louisiana; his step-children, Robert Tremblay of Coldwater, Ryan Tremblay of Reading, Rebecca Tremblay of Coldwater and Russell Tremblay of Coldwater; his 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; his siblings, Linda (Rene) Miller of Homer, Julie Sprague of Athens, Alabama and Ken "Bimbo" Sprague of Concord. He was preceded in death by his parents.
