Bernard D. Richardson Obituary
Bernard D. Richardson, 92, of Coldwater, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
The service will be held Monday, July 23, 2018 at Noon at the Oak Grove Cemetery Chapel in Coldwater with Pastor Mark Case officiating.
The family will receive friends, prior to the service, beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel. Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion, Post # 52 Drill Team. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Bernard was born August 7, 1925 in Reading, MI to William & Hazel (Swaney) Richardson.
He served in the US Navy from July 1, 1943 to March 12, 1946 as a gunner mate aboard the USS Intrepid.
Bernard married Virginia Pierce on June 19, 1946 in Coldwater, she preceded him in death on July 3, 2005.
Mr. Richardson worked in maintenance at the Coldwater Regional Center for 33 years, retiring iin 1984. He belonged to the State Retirees Association and was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, flower gardening and mushroom hunting.
Bernard is survived by his grandchildren Brett (Megan) Richardson of St. Peters, MO, Stacey (Steve) Jones of Avon, IN, great grandchildren Hannah, Hailey & Connor Jones and Payton and Brendon Richardson. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law Bernard Jr. & Sherry Richardson, his sister Beverly Fry and his brother Billy Richardson.
Memorials may be directed to Drew's Place of Coldwater.
