Vera Marilyn (Brower) King Obituary
Vera Marilyn King, 77, of Bronson passed away on Monday, August 04, 2014 at her home.

A funeral service will take place on at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor Terry Siler from the First Congregational Church of Bronson officiating. Interment will follow at North Gilead Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Dutcher-Kolcz. At 7:00 PM, the Order of the Eastern Star, Bronson Chapter 354 will hold an OES Service.

Vera was born November 19, 1936 to Paul and Opha Perle (Harbaugh) Brower in Bethel Township. She graduated from Bronson High School in 1954. Vera married Rolland Vallance in 1956. Vera worked for Shaw Shoe before going to work at Theodore Bargman in Coldwater. She later worked at Precision Speed Equipment in Sturgis and retired in 1998.

Vera married Robert King in 1982. Vera was a loving and kind wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a woman of faith and a long-time member of Bethel-Gilead Community Church. Vera was a 50+-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 354. She had many interests including reading, playing yahtzee and listening to country music. Vera enjoyed traveling the country and volunteering at the Bronson Food Pantry in her younger years. She especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. King is survived by her daughter Kathy (John) Summey of Bronson; her sons Ken (Mary Ann) Vallance of Bronson and Rolland (Terri) Vallance of Burr Oak; her brother Earl Brower of Coldwater; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; two nephews; her first husband Rolland Vallance of Coldwater.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Lyle Vallance; her second husband Robert King; and her sister-in-law Peggy Brower.

Memorials may be directed to the Bronson Food Pantry.
