Anna A. Bump, 84, widow of Floyd L. Bump of Towanda, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, following a brief illness. Anna was born Oct. 10, 1928 in Towanda, the daughter of Orange B. Johnson and Albertine Harris Vanderpool Bump. She was a graduate of Towanda High School and in early years was employed by the Fontaine Weaving Company and by Sylvania Electric in Towanda. Anna also served as caregiver for several family members for a number of years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with her husband, crocheting and cooking.
She is survived by her children Leslie Bump and wife Gloria of Towanda, Louis Bump and wife Karen of Weston and Julia Kelley and husband Gregory of Rome, seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Fred and Bea Bump of Towanda, and Carl and Janice Bump of Macedonia; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Judith Goss of Towanda; and many good neighbors.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Floyd L. Bump on Aug. 8, 2004, a son, Mark Bump, a brother, Louis Vanderpool and sisters, Edith Wheeler and Betty Jane Springsteen.
The funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda. Interment will follow in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills.
