Arthur R. "Art" Minnier

Arthur "Art" R. Minnier, 62, of Colley, passed away at home on April 23, 2013. Art was born in Meshoppen on Nov. 2, 1950, the son of Henry and Marylou Gephart Minnier. He graduated from the Sullivan County High School. Art worked for PennDOT for many years and retired as a foreman two years ago. He worked on many different crews while there, including paving crews and bridge crews. On August 7, 1998, Art married Marilyn Isbell.

Art enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Poppy". He loved going fishing and racing remote controlled speed boats, airplanes, and helicopters with them. Poppy also enjoyed playing computer games with them. Art was a motorcycle and Harley Davidson enthusiast. He enjoyed many hours landscaping, driving the backhoe, and doing yard work around the house.

Art is survived by his wife, Marilyn; parents, Henry and Marylou Minnier; step-daughters, Haley Franklin and husband Jason, of Dushore, and Hillary Styer and husband Andrew, of Danville; grandchildren, Jamison Joseph, Aspen Elise, Jase Ryan and Zachary Joseph; brother, Scott Minnier and wife Cheryl of Rome; sister, Holly Minnier of Colley; and aunts, an uncle, and nephews.

Art is preceded in death by two sisters, Joanne Diamond and Helen Diamond; niece, Jennifer Minnier; and his uncles.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the home of Art and Marilyn, 902 Saxer Rd. Dushore, Pa. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Red Cross, Bradford/Sullivan Co., 5 Bridge St., Towanda, PA 18848, in Art's memory. Arrangements are under the direction of the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, PA 18848.
