Carrie S. Vanderpool, 88, of the Colonial Towers, Towanda, Pa. passed away Saturday morning, April 26, 2014 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa. Carrie was born in Towanda, Pa. on July 3, 1925, the daughter of Myron and Molly Heeman Bailey. Carrie loved God, her family and home.
Surviving are her children, JoAnne Crayton and husband Lynn of Franklindale, Rosemary Deel and husband Troy of Ohio, Floyd Douglas and wife Irene of Georgia, Susan Sill and husband David of Lansing, N.Y., John Vanderpool and companion Eleanor Vanderpool of Towanda, Luke Vanderpool of Athens; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; special caregiver, Sandy Stroud; special caregiver and great nephew, William "Butch" Hatch.
In addition to her parents, Carrie was preceded in death by husbands, Grover Vanderpool and Floyd Vanderpool; sons, Robbie Douglas and Harold Vanderpool; sisters, Eunice Santulli, Ellen Bailey and Dorothy Vanderpool.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa. with Pastor Thomas Geiger of the Assembly of God Church, Towanda officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, Pa.
