Edward F. Schlosser Jr., 54, of Lindley, N.Y., formerly of Ulster, Pa., passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, N.Y.
Ed was born in Camden, N.J. on Sept. 1, 1958, a son of the late Edward F. Schlosser Sr. and Joann R. Yates Schlosser. He attended SRU High School and was employed as a truck driver for over 30 years. Ed enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, training horses, and was a drummer for several area bands.
He is survived by his companion, Loretta Smith of Lindley, N.Y.; children Joni L. Vargson of Elmira Heights, N.Y., Edward F. Schlosser III and wife Melissa of Milan; step-children Robert Smith of Elmira, Jeramie Vargson of Elmira, Angela Smith of Owego; grandchildren Ryan Smith, Caleb Smith, Tyler Talada, Devin Adams, Kamryn Schlosser, Halei Schlosser, Ze'kyiah Wright, and several additional grandchildren; sisters Margaret Harkinson of Lindley, N.Y., Cindy Coyne of Sheshequin; brothers Brian Schlosser and wife Carolyn of Sheshequin, Kevin Schlosser of Elmira, David Schlosser and wife Kerri of Wyoming, Michael Counterman and wife Missy of Towanda and Charles Harkinson of Ulster, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa., with Pastor David Wilkerson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be private in the Ulster Cemetery, Ulster, Pa.
