James M. "Jim" Rought Sr.

James "Jim" M. Rought, Sr., age 68, of Laceyville, Pa. passed away on Tuesday morning, April 2, 2013 surrounded by his family after an illness.

Jim was born on Nov. 11, 1944 in Sayre, Pa., the son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Armitage Rought.

He was a truck driver for RG Brown Refuse of Laceyville, Pa. for over 30 years before his illness forced him to retire.

Jim enjoyed working on cars and hunting in his spare time. He loved to spend time with his family especially playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children James "Junior" M. Rought, Jr. of Northumberland, Pa., Lori Ceacord of Harrisburg, Pa., Thomas R. Rought of Meshoppen, Pa., JR Rought (Gabrielle) of Laceyville, Pa. and Jason R. Rought (Yvonne) of Laceyville, Pa.; his step-daughters Michelle Parkhurst and Julianne Dennis both of Laceyville, Pa.; 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; his brother Walter Rought (Gloria) of Wyalusing, Pa.; his sisters Martha Wildrick (Myron) of LaRaysville, Pa., Margaret Ball of Wyalusing, Pa., and Joyce Cintron of Towanda, Pa.; many nieces and nephews; as well as the one who held his heart, Lynne Brown of Dushore, Pa. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Jack Rought and his sister Ruth Chilson.

Funeral Services will be held on at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main Street, Laceyville, Pa. with Rev. Charles Bishop of the Transue Community Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Camptown Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday, April 5, 2013.
