Juanita Felten, 93, of Towanda, Pa., passed away Friday morning, March 28, 2014 at Memorial Hospital, Towanda, Pa. Juanita was born in Elkins, W.Va. on March 17, 1921, a daughter of Carl and Edith Boyles King. She served as secretary to the Towanda School District business manager for many years until her retirement. Juanita was a member of the Towanda First United Methodist Church where she participated in the choir and the ugly quilts group. Juanita enjoyed playing pitch every Monday with friends and baking cookies and pies for all to enjoy.
Surviving are her children Susan Felten of Towanda, William K. Felten and wife Sherry A. Felten of Towanda, Carla Waltz and husband George Waltz of Ulster; grandchildren Kris Middaugh and husband George of Liberty Corners, Haley Ramsauer of Manassas, Va., Ryan Ramsauer and wife Abby of Tucson, Ariz., Tyler Spencer of Towanda, Benjamin Felten of Towanda; great-grandchildren Jillian Larnard and Emitt Klees; brothers Carl King and wife Louise King, Jerry King and wife Joanne King; sister Jean Richey and husband Marl Richey; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Felten, in 1996 and by several brothers.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Towanda, with Rev. James Hollister, pastor, officiating. Interment will be private.
