Michael P. "Mike" Esposito, 49, of Sayre, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.
He was born April 7, 1964 in Sayre, Pa., a son of Angelo and Donna Martz Esposito.
Mike was a loving husband, father, and son, and especially loved spending time with his children.
He was a 1982 graduate of Sayre High School and graduated from Lock Haven University in 1987. Mike was a self-employed painter and previously was employed with Ingersoll-Rand, Athens Plant. He enjoyed hunting and working on cars, especially his Blue 1966 Chevy. Mike was a coach for the Sayre Little League and Sayre Junior High Football Team, coaching his sons John and James. He was a Sayre School Board member, member of the Sayre Little League Board, social member of Engine Company No. 1 in Sayre, member of the Sayre ELKS, and the Sayre Sons of Italy Roma Madre Lodge No. 1342.
He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents Thersea and Angelo Esposito; maternal grandparents Martha and Charles Martz; paternal grandparents-in-law Harry and Ruth Bowman; and maternal grandparents-in-law Edward and Olga Granoski.
Michael is survived by his wife of 17 years Christine at home; sons John and James Esposito at home; his parents Angelo and Donna Esposito of Sayre, Pa.; brothers Anthony "Tony" Esposito of Towanda, Pa., Christopher (Ann Marie) Esposito of Newfield, N.Y., and Patrick Esposito of Milan, Pa., mother and father-in-law Harry and Elaine Bowman of Mountain Top, Pa.; sister-in-law Lisa (Vincent) Grasso of Doylestown, Pa.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family may call from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 225 S. Main St., Athens, Pa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at the Church of the Epiphany, 304 S. Elmer Ave., Sayre, Pa., with the Rev. Bryan Wright officiating.
