Ralph W. Taylor

Ralph W. Taylor, 71, of Herrickville, Pa. passed away at home early Thursday morning, Feb. 20, 2014 following declining health.

Ralph was born in Towanda, Pa. on Feb. 3, 1943, the son of Glenn W. Taylor and Florence Welliver Taylor. He attended Wyalusing High School and in early years operated the family farm in Herrickville.

He was later employed in logging and by State Aggregates in Wysox and retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in Towanda in March of 2003 following 31 years of service. Ralph enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, carpentry work and possessed great love for his cat, George. Ralph was a member of the NRA and enjoyed helping at auctions at the Herrick Township Volunteer Fire Company.

Surviving are: his children, Ralph E. Taylor and wife Doreen of New Albany, Donald L. Taylor and wife Debra of Wyalusing, Duane A. Taylor and wife Carrie Sue of Herrickville, Teresa L. Brown and husband Chet of Ridgeway, S.C.; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Ralph Taylor and a sister, Marjorie Hitchcock.

The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa., with Pastor Jason Laudermilch of the Herrickville Wesleyan Church officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
