Ronald Max Sayman, 51, of Ulster, Pa. passed away Thursday evening, April 17, 2014 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. as the result of a motorcycle accident in Athens Township, Pa.
Ronald was born Oct. 25, 1962 in Troy, Pa. He grew up in East Smithfield, Pa. and was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1981. In prior years, Ronald was employed by McClure Ford in Troy and Parker Hannefin in Canton. He later moved to North Carolina where he worked for NASCAR for several years before returning to the area. Ronald worked as a truck driver, served as a Snap-On Tool dealer for several years and was employed by Weir Seaboard Oil & Gas in Ulster until the time of his death. Ronald loved riding his Harley motorcycle, camping and working on cars.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen "Kathy" Sipka Sayman; children, Desiree Sayman of Morris, Pa., Christopher Sayman of Bentley Creek, Pa.; stepson, Jason Besley of Elmira Heights, N.Y.; six grandchildren; step father, Walter Furman of Troy, Pa.; sisters, Ruth Coxhead, Rita Inman, Rose Haight and Roxanna Sizemore; brother, Ralph Sayman; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved canine companion, Maggie. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cleota Chapman Furman.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Troy, Pa.
