Mr. Michael Woodruff, age 56, of Royersford, Pa., passed away on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 at the Pottstown Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Michael was born June 15, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio., a son of Helen McDonough Woodruff and the late Donald Gilbert Woodruff, who predeceased him on Feb. 17, 1973. He graduated from Broken Arrow High School, in Broken Arrow, Okla., a member of the class of 1975. He graduated from U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y. in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree and served in the U.S. Navy
Reserve. He served as an officer in the U.S. Merchant Marines from 1979 to 1986 and later was a representative for Express Scripts.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Royersford. Mike enjoyed hunting at his mother's farm near Colley and was avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Surviving is his mother Helen Woodruff at home; brother Patrick (Melissa) Woodruff of Boyertown, Pa.; sisters Barbara Woodruff of Royersford, Pa., Beverly Woodruff of Royersford, Pa., special niece Kelly Woodruff, and numerous cousins.
A Transferal Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, Pa., and will be followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Basil's Church, Dushore, Pa., with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Cummiskey, Pa.
Friends may call at the Homer Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013 at 9 a.m. on Monday until the time of the service.
