Alice Elaine Johnson, 73, of Monroeton, Pa., passed away early Monday morning, Jan. 7, 2013 at her home following declining health.

Alice was born in Sayre, Pa., on Oct. 24, 1939, a daughter of Donald and Beverly Soden Tuttle.
She attended the Towanda Schools and in early years was employed by Herman Rynveld Sons in New Albany and later by the Endicott-Johnson Shoe Company in Mildred for over 20 years.
Mrs. Johnson owned and operated Alice's Restaurant on Main Street in Towanda for 13 years and later worked with her daughter Bonnie Monahan at her restaurant in Monroeton, Bonnie's Eats & Sweets for a number of years. Alice loved cooking and spending a day out at Tioga Downs in Nichols, N.Y.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth E. Johnson, at home; daughter Bonnie (Kevin) Monahan of Monroeton; son Timothy Johnson (Laurie Brown) of Monroeton; grandchildren Jay (Carie) Cory of Monroeton; Brian Cory (Chris Pellor) of Englewood, Fla.; T.J. Johnson (Sara Johnson) of Monroeton, Amanda Johnson of Monroeton; great-grandchildren Michael, Mitchell and Matthew; a sister Evelyn Boyles of Wysox; a brother Ronald (Paula) Tuttle of Wysox; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers Donald, Allen and Joseph Tuttle and sisters Nancy Stevens and Barbara Woodruff.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa., with the Rev. Thomas Blackall officiating. There are no calling hours.
