Betty J. Mickey, 82, of Canton, widow of James, passed away on Sunday evening, Dec. 30, 2012 at Darway Nursing Home in Estella.

Born on Jan. 31, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Betty Jane Miller was one of five children in the family of the late John B. Jr. and Hazel (Parks) Miller. She married James Mickey on March 4, 1955 in Pittsburgh. In 1972, they made their new home just south of Canton. Betty and Jim shared 52 years together before his passing on June 18, 2007. Betty was employed by Canton Manufacturing Company for many years until retiring. She was a member of the East Canton United Methodist Church. Betty's family always came first in her life and she enjoyed times shared with her grandchildren. Her hobbies included collecting dolls and quilting.
She is survived by her four children Sheryl Richards (Martin Seymour) of Odessa, N.Y., Keith (Sue) Mickey of Canton, Susan (Craig) Pender of California and Lisa (Mark) Wilcox of Canton; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two siblings, Charles (Carolyn) Miller of Alabama and Georgina (Ray) Anderson of Virginia; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved dog and companion, Buddy. She was predeceased by two siblings John Miller III and Frances Harris.
