On the morning of Friday, March 1, 2013, Brandon Robert McNett of Canton passed away suddenly as the result of a tragic motor vehicle accident. He was 17 years of age, and a senior at Canton Area High School. Born in Wellsboro on June 28, 1995 he was the son of Richard and Jill (Yaggie) McNett.

He attended the Northern Tier Career Center and was enrolled in the building construction curriculum. For his senior project he helped construct the office at Shelly's Notary in Canton. After school and on weekends Brandon also worked at the neighboring McMurray farm in Canton Township. Skilled in the use of rifle, bow and rod, Brandon enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time, rarely letting the opportunity to indulge pass by. With his warm smile, friendly demeanor and great sense of humor, Brandon was loved by all who knew him. The countless people who were touched by his young life will cherish his memory forever.
