Daniel Howard Shrimp, 44, of 227 Greenwood Road, Monroeton, Powell, passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at Troy Community Hospital, Troy. Daniel was born in Troy on Oct. 19, 1968 the son of Robert C. Shrimp and Pamela Gowin Shrimp. He was a graduate of Wyalusing High School class of 1986 and later served in the U.S. Army. He was formerly employed by Masonite Corporation in Wysox, worked on a veal farm and drove truck which he owned and operated. Daniel was employed by Global Tungsten & Powders Corporation in Towanda at the time of his death. Daniel was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed taking his daughters hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Canton Moose Lodge and the VFW Post in Canton.

He is survived by his daughters, Desiree Shrimp of Wysox, Lillian Shrimp, Zena Shrimp and Madelyn Shrimp all of Towanda; a grandson, Seth; his mother and step father, Pamela and Rodney Lee of New Albany; step mother, Renee Lawrence Shrimp of Dushore; maternal grandmother, Clara Mae Gowin of New Albany; brothers, Donald Charles Shrimp of Monroeton and Duane Robert Shrimp and wife Ann of Waverly, N.Y.; sister Clairene Jean Mae Bartholomew and husband Kenneth of Monroeton; step sister Nichole Silvers of New Albany; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special friend, Sue Adams. He was preceded in death by; his father, Robert C. Shrimp on April 29, 2012 and sister, Roberta Elizabeth Shrimp on Jan. 4, 1987.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home 217 York Ave., Towanda. with Pastor Dennis Fox officiating.

Interment will be private in Hillcrest Cemetery, New Albany.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
