Evelyn Hugo Glosenger, 89, of East Towanda, Pa. passed away Wednesday morning, April 9, 2014 at her home following declining health.

Evelyn was born in Sayre, Pa. on July 15, 1924, the daughter of Ralph and Orrill Hatch Hugo. She was a graduate of Estella High School and later graduated from beauty school in Elmira, N.Y. Evelyn was employed by Sulcraft in Dushore, Pa. and also owned and operated her beauty salon in New Albany, Pa. for many years. Evelyn was a member of the New Albany Methodist Church and the VFW Post No. 384 Ladies Auxiliary in New Albany, Pa. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughters, Fay Glosenger and husband Harry Stroup of Huntingdon, Pa., Karen Glosenger of East Towanda; grandchildren, Keveney Avila and husband Raul of Houston, Texas, Whitney Glosenger of Pittsburgh, Pa.; her sister, Vonnie Huneke of San Diego, Calif.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, G. Rex Glosenger on Jan. 29, 1983; sisters, Rosemary Wade and June Wilson; and her brother, Richard Hugo.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa., with Rev. Robert Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, Pa. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions may be directed to Memorial Hospital Hospice, 91 Hospital Drive, Towanda, PA 18848 in Evelyn's memory.
