Lloyd Barrett, 60, well-known resident of Columbia Cross Roads passed away while surrounded by family on Monday evening, June 17, 2013, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.

Lloyd Sherman Barrett was born on May 29, 1953, in Troy, Pa. He was one of three children in the family of the late Lloyd, Sr. and Florence (Perry) Barrett. Lloyd grew up on the family's dairy farm and attended Troy schools. On Aug. 14, 1971, he married the former Connie Ameigh in the First Christian Church of Alba. They shared 41 years together and raised three children.

No stranger to hard work, Lloyd enjoyed his life-long career as a dairy farmer. He attended Austinville Union Church and was a member of the National Turkey Federation

Lloyd cherished his family; he will be lovingly remembered as a true family man. He was always ready to help someone in need and was blessed with many wonderful friends. Lloyd also was quite a joker with his own unique sense of humor. He enjoyed times shared with family and friends, especially his grandkids, going hunting and just being outdoors. He collected International Tractor memorabilia.

Surviving are his wife, Connie; children, Michael S. (Kelly) Barrett, Kay S. Barrett (Zach Redell) and Joshua W. Barrett all of Columbia Cross Roads; two grandchildren, Janie and Ty Barrett; a sister, Sharon M. (Craig) Barr of Mainesburg; loving mother-in-law, Jennie Ameigh of Troy; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Viola Eddy and father-in-law, Gerald Ameigh.

The family invites friends to call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, at the Austinville Union Church. Rev. Ken Marple will officiate the funeral service at 1 p.m. The burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.

The family will provide flowers and suggests your consideration of a memorial in Lloyd's name to the Austinville Church, c/o 8698 Old State Road, Troy, PA 16947, or the American Leukemia Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Ave 3rd Floor White Plains, NY 10605.
