Lois C. Bond, 74, entered into the house of the Lord on April 23, surrounded by her loving family at her side in The Hospice Center of Lancaster. She was born in Dushore, Pa., in 1936.

Lois was a 1954 graduate of Loyalsock High School, Estella, Pa. She continued her education at the Jean Summers Business School in Elmira, N.Y., and later worked at the Visiting Nurses Association in Elmira.

On April 8, 1961, Lois Ferrell married Robert E. Bond of Ellenton, Pa., at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Overton, Pa. Lois and Robert later raised their family in Clarks Summit, Pa. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother and will be dearly missed.

Her parents, Mary Catherine Everling and Eugene Chuck Ferrell precede her in death. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Bond, Shunk, Pa.; and her sister, Jean Ann Plotts, Lock Haven, Pa. Robert and Lois had three children, son, Robert Bond Jr. and his wife Julie and their two daughters, Danielle and Catherine who reside in Lebanon, Pa.; daughter, Mary Lawhead and her husband, Rip, and their three children, Mike, Megan, and Madison who reside in Lancaster, Pa., daughter, Jennifer Winters and her husband, Cliff, and their two children, Evan and Kendall who reside in Lancaster, Pa.

Lois was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Canton, Pa., and often attended St. Mary's Catholic Church of Lancaster. In recent days she was very grateful for the prayer requests and support she received by the Alter and Rosary societies.

Lois enjoyed her summers in Shunk, Pa., and winters with friends in Lake Wales, Fla. More recently, Lois and Robert resided near family in Lancaster where in recent days they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary while being treated by the Lancaster Cancer Center under the tender care of Dr. Peter DeGreene.

The family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m., Friday April 29, at the Pepper Funeral Home, Springbrook Drive, Canton with transferal prayers at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Canton with Rev. Michael McCormic serving as celebrant. Burial will be in the Ellenton Cemetery.
