Marian A. Robinson, 70, of Barton, N.Y., formerly of Athens, passed away on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 at Riverview Manor, Owego, N.Y., following an extended battle with cancer with her loved ones by her side.

She was born on Aug. 23, 1942 in Sayre, the daughter of the late Howard A. and Mariann Hatch Brown.
Marian was a member of the Litchfield United Methodist Church. She loved gardening, the outdoors, bird watching, animals, especially horses, and raised pugs. Marian enjoyed sports of all kinds but her favorite teams were the N.Y. Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. She worked at Sayre Lingerie as a seamstress and as a waitress at various restaurants.
She is predeceased by her husband Marshall Robinson, and two brothers Miles Brown and Robert Brown.
Marian is survived by her son, Randy R. Robinson of Owego, N.Y.; daughter Hazel B. Robinson of R.I.; grandchildren Shelby Leonard, Megan Rogers, and Brock Leonard Jr.; four great-grandchildren; siblings and spouses Joan and William Allen of Athens, Devona and John Woods of Rochester, N.Y., and Kaye and Donald Jennings of Barton, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 225 South Main St., Athens. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jon Austin from the Litchfield Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens.
