Marian Griswold, 82, life-long resident of Blossburg, Pa. died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, June 21, 2014.

Marian was born in Blossburg on April 19, 1932, a daughter of the late Shelton and Edith (Carlson) Curry. A 1950 graduate of Blossburg High School, Marian also attended Lycoming College. She was the wife of Douglas Griswold who died on April 18, 1995 and the mother of four boys. Marian enjoyed her work as Administrative Director with HUD, Bradford and Tioga County's Dept. of Housing and Urban Development for over 40 years until retiring. "The Golden Rule" was her guide through life and she will be lovingly remembered for a supportive nature and her empathy for others, especially the elderly. Marian was a member of the Blossburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her home, landscaping, flowers and gardening as well as traveling to visit her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Jeffery (Joann) Griswold of Dallas, Pa., Steve Griswold of Woodbridge, N.J., Lancz (Lee Ann) Griswold of Howell, N.J. and Rock (Jennifer) Griswold of Jersey Shore; seven grandchildren, Emily, Alexandria, Kira, Ethan, Lyndsey, MacGuire and Sadie; a brother, John "Jack" Curry of Towanda.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Zwicharowski Funeral Home, 314 Granger St., Blossburg and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at the Blossburg United Methodist Church. Pastor Michele Somerville and Rev. John Shypulefski will officiate the funeral service at 11 a.m. following visitation. Interment will be in Arbon Cemetery.
