Nora M. Smith, 93, of Mosier Road, Wyalusing, formerly of Weatherly, went peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 25, at Memorial Hospital in Towanda.
She was the widow of William E. Smith, who passed away Nov. 8, 1987.
Nora was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Weatherly, where she was very active.
She was a graduate of Summit Hill High School.
Nora held various jobs throughout her life, but most important to her were her faith and family.
Born in Summit Hill, she was the daughter of the late Robert McLaughlin and the late Rebecca (Edwards) McLaughlin.
She is survived by her two sons, Wayne W. Smith and his wife, Mary Jean of Wyalusing, and Gerald "Jerry" R. Smith and his special friend, Dolores Younker of Weatherly; four granddaughters, Christina Smith (Eden Berrigan), Kelly Andrus (Jason George), Kerry Altieri (Louis Altieri) and Kimberly Dotter; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Robert, and sisters, Anne J. McLaughlin, Margaret Deisenroth and Marian Weston.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 211 First St., Weatherly, PA 18825.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 335 Third St., Weatherly, PA 18255, with Pastor Dawn Richie officiating.
Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Weatherly.
Memorials in her honor may be sent to the church.
