Paul E. Brusso Sr., 76, of Sayre, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2013, at home.

He was born Feb. 28, 1937, in Elmira, N.Y., the son of the late Mathias G. Brusso and Frances Ames.
Paul was a devoted father to all of his children and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a veteran, serving with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1959-1963. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports, and movies. Paul was a member of Epiphany Parish in Sayre and a former member of Rome Vigilante Fire Company.
Paul is predeceased by his daughters Margaret Irene in 1997, and Paula Mae in 1975, also two great-grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his children Paul E. Brusso, Jr. of Elmira, N.Y., Robert and Deborah Brusso of LeRoy, W.Va., Martha Barnes of Comberlain, Md., Corinna and Bonerges Ulloa-Ulloa of Texas, Michael Brusso of Pennsylvania; 21 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Matt Brusso of Lowman, N.Y., and Steve Brusso of Owego, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and family may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 S. Main St., Athens, Pa. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Epiphany Parish, 304 S. Elmer Ave., Sayre, Pa., with the Rev. Andrew Hvozdovic officiating. Burial will be in the Bath National Cemetery, Bath, N.Y.
