Perl Arthur Shores, 95, of Ulster, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at his home, the same home he was born in. Perl was born on July 24, 1917 in Ghent, Pa., a son of the late Olie and Grace Shores. A life-long and dedicate farmer, Perl treasured his family, enjoyed visiting with his neighbors and was a true "Mr. Fix It."

He is survived by his wife Lillian; children Boyd Shores and Fran Brown; grandchildren Jennifer, Kathryn and Molly; great-grandchildren Heather, Andrew and Magnus Perl; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. He was predeceased by his parents as well as brothers Earl Shores, Elmer Shores and sister Marie Hayden.
A memorial service and celebration of Perl's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20 at the North Rome Wesleyan Church.
