Ronald E. Dodge

Ronald E. Dodge, 73, of 2872 Bridge St. Hill Road, Towanda, Pa., passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 19, 2011, at Memorial Hospital, N. Towanda Twp., Pa.

Ronald was born June 14, 1937 in Sayre, Pa., the son of the late Harold and Mabel Rowe Dodge. He attended Towanda High School and subsequently served in the U.S. Army. On March 4, 1957 he married the former Dorothy O'Connor in Dushore, Pa. Ronald was employed by the Ingersoll-Rand in Athens, Pa., from 1959 until his retirement in 1999 following 40 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons hunting and fishing and his canine companions Suzie and Jack. Ronald will be remembered by his family and friends as a man of many talents and for his ability to fix almost anything.

He is survived by: his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Dodge at home; children, Timothy Dodge of Dallas, Pa., Melissa Kinne and fiancé Jeff Thurston of Towanda, Maureen "Molly" Feichtner and husband Michael of Monroeton; grandchildren, Gregory Bacorn and wife Jenny of Towanda, Joel Schoonover and fiancé Jessica Preston of Wyalusing, Michael Feichtner II of Monroeton; great-grandchildren, Dakota and Sienna Bacorn.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel on Jan. 17, 1969; his father, Harold on Jan. 15, 2005; and half brother, Jack Rowe in January of 2004.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

The Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home of Towanda, Pa., is assisting Ronald's family with arrangements.
