Margaret C. "Peg" Vaow, 96, formerly of the Senior Citizens Building, Towanda and Monroe Township, Pa., passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at the Highlands Care Center in Laporte, Pa.

"Peg" as she was known by her family and friends was born Sept. 8, 1916 in Carbondale, Pa., the daughter of Ira and Carrie Bigelow Comstock. On Sept. 9, 1933 she married Fred C. Vaow in Skinners Eddy, Pa.

Peg was a member of the Monroeton United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge No. 1367 in Towanda.

She is survived by her son Dale Vaow of Glendale, Ariz.; daughters Donna Robinson of the Bradford County Manor, West Burlington Township, Pa. and Dixie (Edward) Dickerson of Riddle, Oregon; sister-in-law Mary Comstock of Easton, Pa.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Fred C. Vaow, on Oct. 5, 1997; son and daughter-in-law Delbert R. Vaow Sr. and Norma Vaow; daughter and son-in-law Delta Lamphere and John Lamphere; son-in-law Leon Robinson and granddaughter Leah Robinson Rumsey.

Abiding with Margaret's request there will be no funeral service or calling hours. Contributions may be directed to the Monroeton United Methodist Church in Margaret C. Vaow's memory.
