Helen G. Dunn, 82, of Pittsburgh, Pa., formerly of Monroeton, Pa., passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Baptist Homes Personal Care in Pittsburgh.

Helen was born in Powell, Pa., on Aug. 11, 1930, the daughter of Ward and Dorothy Laudenslager Updegraff. She was a graduate of Towanda High School class of 1949. On May 5, 1951, she married Warren K. Dunn at the Powell United Methodist Church where she was a member. In early years, Helen was employed by the Towanda Folding Box Company.

Helen's greatest joy was spending time with her family and especially babysitting her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She spent most of her life in Towanda enjoying activities such as girl scouting, teaching Sunday school at Powell United Methodist Church and bowling with friends in a local league. Helen and Warren were also members of the French Choppers camping club that camped locally. In their retirement they were able to camp throughout the U.S., spending their winters in a Florida campground with friends to escape the cold Pennsylvania weather. Helen spent the past four years in Pittsburgh with her daughters and youngest grandchildren. She was able to enjoy many outings to see the Pirates play baseball, theater and orchestra performances, and even trips to local casinos. Her greatest gift was hospitality and she loved to visit with friends and play games, right to the end of her time here on earth. She will be missed by all.

Helen is survived by her son, Larry Dunn and his wife Martha who reside in Towanda; their two children, Heather (Dunn) Fortin and her husband Eric who reside in California, and Eric Dunn and his wife Shannon who reside in North Carolina; Helen's oldest daughter Teresa (Dunn) Slocum and her husband Matthew reside in Pittsburgh with their children Daniel and Anna; Helen's youngest daughter, Susan Dunn, who also resides in Pittsburgh.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband Warren on Oct. 15, 1999; sisters, Katherine Williams and Lill Maryott.
