Edward E. Felter IV, age 44, of Standing Stone Twp., Pa., passed away Wednesday evening, March 12, 2014, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa. after an illness.

Ed was born in Nurnburg, West Germany on Jan. 27, 1970, the son of the late Edward E. Felter, III who passed away on Feb. 25, 1997 and Sandra Decker Felter of Standing Stone Twp., while his father was stationed there while serving his country with the US Army.

He was a graduate of Wyalusing High School with the class of 1987. Ed worked in distribution for the Wyalusing Rocket Courier and later as a forklift operator at the Kane Warehouse in Tunkhannock, Pa. until ill health forced his retirement.

Ed was a member of the Wyalusing Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Wilmot Volunteer Fire Co. for many years. He enjoyed firing, buying, and selling guns.

Ed is survived by his daughter, Breanna Marie Felter of Wilmot Twp., Pa.; his mother, whom which he lived with, Sandra Felter; his brother, Hayden E. Felter and his wife Lisa of Wyalusing, Pa.; his two nieces, Hailey and Kendyl Felter of Wyalusing, Pa.; his daughter's mother, Laurie Bogart Murray of Wilmot Twp., Pa.; his special uncle and aunt, Keith and Rosie Felter of Rome, Pa.; as well as several other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Besides his father he was preceded in death by his brother, Aaron "Norm" D. Felter (Nov. 6, 2005); his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Martha Decker; and paternal grandparents, Edward and Dorothy Felter, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2014, at the Wyalusing Volunteer Fire Department with Reverend Barry Ballard of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Wyalusing Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Fire Hall from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
