Thomas Christopher Geissler, 69, of 220 N. Main St., Towanda, Pa. passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa.

Tom was born in Irvington, N.J. on Oct. 12, 1944, the son of Harry and Anne Faughnan Geissler. He was a graduate of Union High School, Union, N.J. in 1962 and was a graduate of Newark College of Engineering, Newark, N.J. in June of 1966. On Nov. 4, 1967 he married the former Susan Saldutti in Newark, N.J. Tom was employed by E. I. DuPont first in Parlin, N.J. and Madison Wis. and later in Towanda until his retirement in 2001 following 33 years of service.

He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Towanda, Towanda Lions Club, and served as a driver for Meals On Wheels in the Towanda area for a number of years. Tom was an avid bowler having participated on various leagues. He enjoyed playing golf and was a devout Dallas Cowboys fan.

Surviving are his wife, Susan Geissler; children, Keith Geissler and wife Susette Geissler of Rowlett, Texas, Kimberly Geissler-Michalak and husband Robert M. Michalak of Johnson City, N.Y.; grandchildren, Alison Geissler of Tampa, Fla., Joseph, Mark and Thomas Nicosia all of Johnson City, N.Y.; step-grandson, Robert R. Michalak of Johnson City, N.Y.; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Hope of Tampa, Fla.; brother, Robert Geissler and wife Peg of New Jersey; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Geissler.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Third Street, Towanda, Pa. with the Rev. Edward Michelini, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, North Towanda, Pa.
