Danny North, 62, of Canton, Pa., (Franklin Twp.) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday evening, May 16, 2014.

Danny Lynn North was born on July 8, 1951 in Altoona, Pa. He was a son of the late Walter B. and Twila (Reffner) North. Danny grew up in Allemansville, Pa., and graduated from Moshannon Valley High School. He served our country during the Viet Nam War as a U.S. Army Sergeant stationed in Korea.

Danny enjoyed his work in the HVAC trades all his life. Most recently he was employed by Agway and Suburban Energy. Danny will be lovingly remembered as a man who would offer the shirt off his back to help someone. He was a lifetime member of Towanda's VFW. Danny collected radio-controlled airplanes and was an avid gardener. In earlier years he enjoyed hunting.

Surviving are his wife, the former Priscilla Powell; six children Jaime (Jason) Olbert of Lily, Pa., Aaron (Laurie) North of Cresson, Pa. and Geoffrey, Kelsey, Mimi and Christopher North all of Canton; two grandsons Dakota and Damon; a brother and three sisters; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant daughter, Angel North.
