L. Charles "Chuck" Sidener, 63, of Lawton, Pa., passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 16, 2014. Chuck was born in 1951 in Hammond, Ind. He has lived in the Lawton area for nearly 40 years with his wife, Wendy.
The Guest Book is expired.
He retired as the manager of Arey Building Supply following a double lung transplant in 2006. The transplant enabled him to enjoy a full life spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. He spent his retirement building projects, traveling, and enjoying a love of outdoor activities. He was well known within the community and made friends wherever he went.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Wendy; his son Jason (wife, Katie Belanger); his daughters Rebecca (husband, Gary Mokris) and Jessica (husband, Tyler Clemons); his grandchildren Maya and Wyatt Mokris, and Jemma and Elodie Clemons; his sister Jacqueline Houdeshell; his nephew Stuart; his niece Carrie Houdeshell and many other family members and friends across the country.
Chuck loved adventures throughout his entire life. As a young man he hitchhiked across the country, raced cars on the Pocono racetrack, and most recently jumped out of a perfectly good airplane. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. His family and grandchildren gave him continuous joy.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in his name to AlphaNet, 3300 Ponce de Leon Boulevard, Coral Gables, FL 33134 or Clyde F. Barker Penn Transplant House, 3940 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104. The family also encourages everyone to remember to become an organ donor, if they are not already, to continue the gift of life.
Arrangements were entrusted to Bartron-Myer Funeral Home Inc., Montrose, Pa.
