Ray Alan Johnston, 42, of 871 Front St., New Albany, Pa. passed away Sunday morning, Aug. 17, 2014, at his home following declining health.

Ray was born in Towanda, Pa. on Nov. 23, 1971, the son of Bruce Rae Johnston and Anna Mae Gardner Johnston.
Ray was formerly employed by the Taylor Packing Company in Wyalusing, Pa. and was a self-employed landscaper and carpenter in the area for a number of years.
Surviving are his brothers, Bruce Rae Johnston, Jr. of Richmond, Va., Billy Henry Johnston of New Albany; a niece, Leonary Patricia Longcoy of Monroeton; aunts, Betty Pedro of New Albany, Delores Manahan and husband Donald of New Albany, Rose Benjamin and husband Norman of Towanda, Beverly Chilson and husband Paul of Monroeton, aunt Sally Ann Dotter and husband George of Towanda; uncle, John "Tink" Gardner and wife Mary of Towanda and Florida; special family friend, Joan Finan of New York State.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce, on Nov. 14, 2011; and mother, Anna Mae on Nov. 13, 2013.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa., with Rev. James Hollister pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Towanda officiating.
Interment will follow in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, Pa.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
