Vernon N. Morgan, age 72, of Mainesburg, Pa., died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014 at his home.

Vernon was born Sept. 21, 1941 in Elmira, N.Y., a son of Nelson and Lucille (Wilkins) Morgan. He was married to Margaret "Peggy" A. (Carlson) Morgan. Vernon was a member of the Bakerburg Community Church and the N.R.A. He was a life long dairy farmer, enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his garden, and snowmobiling, cutting firewood, and spending time with his family.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Peggy; three daughters and sons-in-law, Tami and Robert Bechtel of Gillett, Pa., Jannette and Mark Killian Jr. of Canton, Pa., Sonya and Joseph Route, Ogdensburg, Pa.; six grandchildren, Kyle, Levi, Desiree, Dylan, Darren and Daniel; two great-grandchildren, Raelyn and Aralyn; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Yvonne and Larry Smith, Ruby and George Blow, Linda and Floyd McCaslin, all of Mainesburg, Pa.

Family and friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at the Bakerburg Community Church, 197 Gray Valley Rd., Mansfield, Pa. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the church with Pastor David Dressler officiating. A private burial will be in King Hill Cemetery, State Road, Mainesburg, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bakerburg Community Church Mission Fund, 197 Gray Valley Rd., Mansfield, PA 16933. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, Pa., is assisting the family.
