Georgia A. Jenkins, 76, of Troy, Pa., lost her battle with cancer on Aug. 27, 2014, at home with family by her side.

Born April 20, 1938 in Elmira, N.Y., she was the daughter of Raymond and Helen Bristol Brewer.

A 1956 graduate of Troy High School, Georgia married her high school sweetheart, Richard "Dick" Jenkins on June 24, 1956. Together they owned and operated Hi-Lev Farms, a successful dairy business for over 45 years. They raised their family and entertained countless others who came to enjoy the camaraderie in the home in which "Cabbage," as Dick so fondly called her, built her own kitchen cabinets. She was a member of the Leona Church and life time member of the Troy Volunteer Fire Department, an avid hunter and outdoorswoman. She was truly a great lady who would lend a hand to anyone in need.

Georgia was predeceased by her parents; sister, Eileen Brewer Sisson; brothers, Norman Brewer and Merle Brewer; daughter-in-law, Lisa Strope Jenkins. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dick Jenkins; daughter, Bonnie (Michael) Stone, Lakeland, Fla.; sons, Robert "Bob" (Linda) Jenkins, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. and Donald "Zeke" (Tammi) Jenkins, Troy, Pa.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandsons; sister, Marian Brewer Brogdale, Apalachin, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are with the Gerald W. Vickery Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 1093 W. Main St., Troy, PA 16947. Calling hours will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, with funeral services at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014.
