Hope Eileen Brown, 53, of New Albany, Pa., passed away Wednesday morning, Aug. 27, 2014 at her home following declining health.

Hope was born in Towanda, Pa. on April 17, 1961, the daughter of Laurel Sutton Cobb and the late Richard Cobb. She attended Elk Lake High School and was formerly employed by Staff Management at Proctor & Gamble in Mehoopany, Kane's in Tunkhannock, the Jolly Trolley in Dushore, Highlands Care Center in Laporte and by McDonald's Restaurant in Wysox.

Hope enjoyed cross stitch, fishing, flowers and gardening.

Surviving are her companion, Terry Crawford of New Albany; mother, Laurel Cobb of Meshoppen; children, Amy Lewis and husband Chief Petty Officer, Joseph Lewis of Picayune, Miss., Monica Lewis and husband Charlie Lewis III. of Tarboro, N.C., Keith Brown of New Albany; grandchildren, Katherine, Meghan, Justin, Hunter, Fisher and Charlie Lewis; her twin sister, Holly Vanderpool of Towanda; sister, Marguerite Shafer of Litchfield Township; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Brown in 2003; and by her father, Richard Cobb in 2005.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at the United Methodist Church of Auburn with her uncle, Rev. Calvin Cobb officiating. Interment will be in the Beaver Meadows Cemetery, Tuscarora Twp., Pa. The Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home of Towanda, Pa. is assisting Hope's family with arrangements. The family requests that contributions in Hope's memory be directed to the Keith Brown Continuing Education Fund in care of First Citizens Bank, LeRaysville, PA 18829.
