Amelia (Tillie) Hatch entered into Heaven on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 and into the arms of many loved ones including her husband Ivan on the day before what would have been their 73rd wedding anniversary.
The Guest Book is expired.
She was born April 18, 1924, the daughter of Floyd and Myra Collins Keeney. She was born at New Era and later moved to Evergreen. She married Ivan L. Hatch, Aug. 29, 1941 and then moved to New Albany to the Hatch family farm. They had sons Dale, Floyd and a daughter Linda all of New Albany. She was blessed with six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by a sister Jean Herman and was very blessed to have had a great companion for a roommate at the Skilled Nursing Unit at Towanda Memorial Hospital, Phyllis Rockwell. She was predeceased by her husband; sisters, Charlotte Berkley, Marion Robinson, Ruth Hibbard; brothers, Ivan, Paul, Howard and Lester; and two great-great-granddaughters.
Amelia retired from Rynveld's Wreath Factory and worked at Donna's Lawn Ornaments. She loved to crochet, do crafts and play bingo. She hand-sewed quilts and had a knack for growing African violets. She took many trips to Canada where she enjoyed fishing. She played the organ and guitar even though she took no music lessons. Her most precious moments were spent with family.
She was a member of the New Albany Methodist Church and of the New Albany Volunteer Fire Co. and helped for many years with their Haunted Hayride.
At Amelia's request there will be no memorial services. Memorials may be sent to the New Albany Methodist Church, 591 Front St., New Albany, PA 18833 or the New Albany Volunteer Fire Co, PO Box 167.
