Florence Mason Kneller, 81, formerly of West Burlington, Pa., died Monday evening, Jan. 3, 2011 at the Bradford County Manor in West Burlington Twp., Pa.

Florence was born in Canton, Pa., on Feb. 11, 1929, the daughter of the late Silas and Lucinda Dunbar Mason. Florence was a graduate of Rome High School Class of 1947 and the Robert Packer Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. She worked as a registered nurse in several local hospitals and at the Bradford County Manor. On June 20, 1951 she married Leland Carl Kneller in Myersburg, Pa. Florence and her late husband Leland were lifetime dairy farmers in West Burlington.

She was a member of the West Burlington United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Union Grange No. 155, Grange County Choir, Towanda Area Senior Citizens and Athens Area Senior Citizens.

Florence enjoyed music, singing, cooking, playing cards, gardening, crafting including knitting, quilting and tatting. She loved attending school events of her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are: her daughters and sons-in-law, Cinda and William Arnold of Monroeton, Pa., Martha "Marty" Bowie of Chesnee, S.C., Melva and Jeffrey Smith of New Cumberland, Pa., Sonya and Donald McKinery of Middletown, Del.; her son and daughter-in-law, Silas and Pam Kneller of Troy, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Adleine Payne of Sayre, Pa., Irma Chapman, Mildred and Stuart Bristol, Norma and Bill Elvidge all of Troy, Pa.; brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Toni Mason of Elmira, N.Y.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Leland Carl Kneller on Sept. 12, 2002; her son, Lysander Curtis Kneller in August of 1956; and son-in-law, Jim Bowie in August of 2008.

The funeral service will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 7, at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa., with Pastor Chris Nauta of the West Burlington United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, Pa. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday at the funeral home.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed to the West Burlington United Methodist Church in care of Audrey Schanbacher, 13780 Route 6, Troy, PA 16947 in Florence M. Kneller's memory.
