Franklin Chilson Obituary

Franklin D. Chilson, 77, of Asylum Township, passed away Friday evening, Jan. 4, 2013 at his home following a brief illness. He was born on Jan. 30, 1935 in Asylum Township, the son of Max H. Chilson Sr. and Daisy Stephenson Chilson. Franklin attended the Towanda Schools and subsequently served in the U.S. Air Force in Elindore, Alaska for two years during the Korean War. Franklin worked on numerous area construction projects over the years. He also provided small engine repair service to the community for many years.

He is survived by his sons, Adam L. Chilson of Sayre and Eric S. (Rose) Chilson of Ulster; grandchildren Adam Knight Chilson, Cheyanne Chilson and Wyatt Chilson; brothers Max Chilson Jr. of Asylum Twp., Clifford (Kay) Chilson of Asylum Twp., Thomas (Rosetta) Chilson of Wyalusing and Wilmer (Margaret "Peggy") Chilson of Asylum Twp.; a sister, Susan "Susie" (Ernest) Woodruff of Texas; a sister-in-law, Elsie Chilson of Towanda; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by; a sister, Margaret Doane and brothers, Paul and Albert Chilson.

Abiding with Franklin's request, there will be no funeral service or calling hours.

The Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home of Towanda is assisting the Chilson Family with arrangements.

Randy. So sorry to hear of Frank's passing. He could fix about anything. He will be missed. I spoke with him two weeks before his passing and despite his illness he still was offering his help if needed just like always. I hope knowing he is at peace will bring comfort to you and the rest of his family. Reva
